Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Position: Clinical Laboratory Scientist


Sierra Pacific Orthopedics is seeking a Full-time Clinical Lab Scientist to perform various laboratory tests to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The ideal candidate will collect and analyze samples, maintain accurate records, and ensure quality control procedures are followed to minimize erroneous results.

This is a unique opportunity to assist in the formation and development of a new lab in the largest physician-owned private medical group in Fresno. The lab will function M-F between the hours of 8:00a-5:00p.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or equivalent major.
  • Licensure as a Clinical Lab Scientist with the State of California. Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
  • Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Collect, prepare, and analyze samples such as blood, urine, cells, and other bodily fluids.
  • Perform various tests to detect abnormalities or diseases.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning.
  • Follow quality control procedures and document all findings accurately.
  • Communicate test results to healthcare providers and collaborate with other medical staff as needed.
  • Ordering and keeping appropriate inventory of supplies.

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Position requires prolonged sitting and standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, lab equipment, photocopier, telephone and other office equipment is also required. Employee must have normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriately.

Compensation: $42/hr-$60/hr
